The iconic speech delivered by the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on 7 March 1971 has been recognised by UNESCO as a part of the ‘Memory of the World Register’ as a documentary heritage. It is an integral part of the history of independent Bangladesh.

While working on its initiative to empower the Profoundly Deaf community, Grameenphone found that those with impaired hearing were unable to hear the powerful words and missed out on the tremendous inspiration. Driven by a sense of responsibility, Grameenphone made a sign language enabled version of the speech for them:

Grameenphone believes that this will inspire this community and preserve the immense legacy of the father of our nation. This is a unique attempt from Grameenphone to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of the father of the nation. The speech is enacted by media personalities including Syed Hasan Imam, Aupee Karim, Tahsan Khan, Arafat Sultana Lata, Biddya Sinha Mim, Masuma Rahman Nabila, Manoj Pramanik, Afran Nisho and Gousul Alam Shaon in sign language.
