Robi introduces ‘British Council English Learning Service’

Mobile phone operator Robi has recently introduced ‘British Council English Learning Service’ in collaboration with British Council and SSD-Tech for its subscribers, reports UNB.

The subscription based on-demand English learning platform facilitates, customers to learn English language skills using the mobile phone at their convenience, said a press release issued on Sunday.

Robi customers can subscribe to the service by simply sending START ENG keyword to 2580. This service is chargeable at Tk 2.44 per day.

The customer will get content daily on general English messages, such as: learning tips, interesting facts, collocations, idioms, expressions and vocabulary as an SMS. Apart from this, the customer will also get a quiz on English language problem solving. The daily quiz is not chargeable.

The difficulty of the quiz is set at easy by default. However, a customer may choose to migrate to intermediate and advanced level English anytime he or she wishes to. In order to migrate to intermediate level or advanced level, the subscriber needs to send ENG 2 and ENG 3 respectively, to 2580.

Main objective of this service is to make the language learning easy and widely available. With this solution people who found it difficult to approach quality language teaching institutes can now access the very best of English learning content from British Council at an affordable price.
