Bangladesh important market for global companies: Kantar global CEO

Global chief executive officer of Kantar, one of the world’s leading data, insight and consultancy companies, Eric Salama visited Bangladesh on 4-5 September.

He was accompanied by Kantar South Asia CEO Preeti Reddy and Kantar South Asia managing director (media, digital and chief strategy officer) Hemant Mehta.

During his visit, Salama participated in consumer immersions to understand the pulse of Bangladesh economy, people’s lifestyle and product offerings in the market, says a media release.

Kantar MRB hosted a gala dinner event on 4 September at the Westin, Dhaka.

The marketing leaders, market research fraternity and senior representatives of leading organisations from a diverse set of industries like FMCG, telecom, media attended the event.

The pre-dinner discussions shed light on the growing economy and prospects of Bangladesh.

Salama said that Bangladesh’s economic growth is promising and it is emerging as an important growth market for most of the large, global companies including Kantar.

Rise of consumerism, driven by healthy, young population, growing incomes, women empowerment and rapid digital adoption, are key to making the country an attractive investment market for various brands, he added.

Wide ranging conversation on topics like innovation, digitisation, competitiveness and the rise of the local brands in shaping up the businesses was held at the programme.
