Like the previous year, the National Board of Revenue (NBR) will organise 'Halkhata Day' marking Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year, reports UNB.

But this year the day will be celebrated on 15 April instead of 14 April as the first day of the Bengali New Year is a holiday.

NBR chairman Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan said this while talking to reporters at his office on Tuesday.

He said the revenue collecting authority will consider an incentive for the taxpayers if they pay their dues on that day.

Books will be distributed as gifts among taxpayers on 15 April, he added.

The NBR last year started celebrating Bangla New Year for the very first time in its history.
