Cost of vehicle registration, route permits may rise

The cost of issuance or renewal of all kinds of vehicle registration, route permits, fitness certificates, ownership certificatea except for passenger buses, trucks, lorries, three wheelers, ambulances and school buses.

Finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal announced the duty while presenting the national budget for the 2019-20 fiscal in parliament on Thursday.

“In order to improve the traffic congestion situation and develop the public sector transport system, 10 percent supplementary duty on issuance or renewal of all kinds of vehicle registration, route permit, fitness certificates, ownership certificate, etc. except for passenger buses, trucks, lorries, three wheelers, ambulances and school buses may be imposed,” said the finance minister.
