Mitali Mukherjee honoured

Renowned singer Mitali Mukherjee has received a lifetime contribution award by Citibank NA, Bangladesh for her outstanding contributions to the cultural heritage in Bangladesh.
The award was handed over to the singer at an annual programme of the Citibank NA, Bangladesh styled “Gaane Gaane Gunijan Sangbardhana” at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel on Saturday, according to a press release.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, eminent film director Amjad Hossain and Citibank’s country officer Rashed Maqsood presented Mitali Mukherjee an honorary crest, portrait and a cheque at the function.
“We are proud to have the privilege to honour the renowned artist, Mitali Mukherjee. She has made noteworthy contributions to the promotion of Bengali music throughout the subcontinent," said Rashed Maqsood.
Mitali Mukherjee was born in Mymensingh. She began her musical career in Bangladesh at a young age. Many of her Bengali songs are very popular for years.
Since 2004, Citibank NA, Bangladesh honoured artists Nilufar Yasmin, Farida Parveen, Feroza Begum, Sanjida Khatun, Shorab Hossain, Ferdousi Rahman, Sabina Yasmin, Rezwana Choudhury Bannya, Subir Nandi, Shahnaz Rahmatullah and Syed Abdul Hadi for their outstanding contribution to Bengali music and culture.
