Filmmaker Rana Hamid passes away

Film producer, director and censor board member Rana Hamid died of cancer at a city hospital on Saturday night.

He had been suffering from stomach cancer and kidney related problems for long, family said.

He made several films including the popular film ‘Masud Rana Ekhon Dhakay’ and ‘Dhakar Rani’.

Rana was a former director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) and also was a member of Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association.

He will be buried at his native village in Netrokona following a Namaz-e-Janaza on Sunday.
