Tareque Masud film fest begins Friday

The ‘Tareque Masud Film Week’ will begin on Friday at European Standard School in the city’s Dhanmondi, reports UNB.

The opening ceremony of the festival will be held at 5:00pm, said organisers.

Muktir Gaan, Otorjatra, Runway, Noroshundor, Adam Surat and Matir Moina will be screened in the festival organised by Digital Life.

The event will continue till 16 January and it will remain open for all.

Tareque Masud was a renowned Bangladeshi independent film director, filmmaker, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist.

The filmmaker died in a road accident on 13 August in 2011 on the Dhaka-Aricha highway while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj after visiting a film spot.

Then Masud was working on Kagojer Phool (The Paper Flower).

In 2012, Tareque Masud posthumously received Ekushey Padak, the highest civilian award of Bangladesh.
