Noted Nazrul Sangeet exponent Nashid Kamal performed songs and discussed her latest book on rebel poet Kazi Nazrul Islam recently in a programme in Washington DC, USA.

The programme titled '17th Nazrul Convention' featured a discussion on Nashid Kamal's book 'The Path of the Comet and Other Essays' published by Nazrul Institute in 2018.

Professor emeritus Winston Langley spoke highly on three articles of the book in the event organised jointly by Dhrupad and BAIE.

It was a treat for expatriate Bangalees when Nashid Kamal took the stage and performed a number of Nazrul songs. In between her songs, she enthralled the audience with some stories on the background of the songs.

Renowned Nazrul Sangeet singer Fatema Tuz Zohra, Khilkhil Kazi, Salauddin Ahmed, Meher Afroz Shaon, Dorothy Bose, Bidisha, Riddhi Bannerjee and Tushar Dutta, among others, performed on the occasion.
