A long-waited liberation war-centric film 'Postmaster 71' has hit theatres.

Directed jointly by Rashed Shamim and Abir Khan, the film features Ferdous in the lead role.

The 'Hotath Brishti' actor is closely related with the film as his production house, Nuzhat Films, made the film. The film has been, however, released by Impress Telefilm.

In a tete-e-tete with Prothom Alo, the actor came up with a lot of details about 'Postmaster 71' and more.

Prothom Alo: Why did you take three years to release 'Postmaster 71'?

Ferdous: We decided to release the film either on the occasions of Independence Day on 26 March or on Victory Day on 16 December. But, the film had to go through some complexities over its post-production works and editing.

Prothom Alo: What do you expect from the film?

Ferdous: Definitely, I have high hopes. We have released it in the month of our victory. Emotions run strong among the people of the country for liberation war-centric films. I believe film-lovers will watch the film in the theatres.

Prothom Alo: How do you feel working for movies like this?

Ferdous: I always love to work in films like this. Before 'Postmaster 71', I worked for 'Guerrilla', 'Shovoner Swadhinata' and 'Dhrubotara'. I played the role of a postmaster in the 'Postmaster 71'.

Prothom Alo: Why did you release it through Impress Telefilm?

Ferdous: I've sold the film to Impress Telefilm as I don't want to take hassles of releasing a film. I think I'm not a businessman, as well.
