Madrasa students arrange cultural evening at Shilpakala

Students of five madrasas from Gopalganj performed a cultural program on Tuesday at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) aiming to increase their involvements in cultural activities, reports UNB.

State minister for cultural affairs K M Khalid was present as the chief guest while BSA director Liaquat Ali Lucky delivered the welcome speech.

K M Khalid said that this was a unique program arranged by madrasa students. They have been being involved in cultural activities as well as breaking the miss interpretation about them which is really remarkable.

He also announced TK 50,000 donation from his ministry to each of five participating madrasas.

The program titled 'Let the light of youth and education spread out in the songs of youths' enchanted the spectators.

The students performed in several categories, such as patriotic and Islamic songs, recitation of poetries from famous Bangladeshi poets and performed a group drama.

Gopalganj deputy commissioner Habibur Rahman and district administrator Shahida Sultana attended the program as special guests.

Thanking the BSA authority for such initiative, BSA's Gopalganj unit general secretary Khandaker Yahiya Khaled Sahi, cultural officer Al Mamun Bin Saleh, Salehia Kamil Madrasa principal Md Abu Sayeed spoke in the program.
