‘The Lion King’ hits Star Cineplex

People still feel nostalgic whenever they remember a young lion prince, Simba, who was forced to flee his kingdom and learned the true meaning of responsibility and bravery, after the murder of his father.

The feel is going to be more mesmerising this time as the Walt Disney Pictures and Fairview Entertainment produced the 1994 film after more than 25 years with the help of new technology and new findings in documentaries on natural life.

The remade film, released on 19 July in United Kingdom, will hit the Star Cineplex, Dhaka on 26 July for Bangladeshi viewers, says press communique.

The Lion King has already rocked the Indian viewers. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan Khan dubbed in the Hindi version of the film.

On the first day of release in India, the film earned Rs 110.6 million. Across the globe, it bagged $14.5 million on the first day, beating the earnings of The Jungle Book ($11.6 million) and Beauty and The Beast ($12.4 million).
