Stars remain stars to the viewers: Bidya Sinha Mim

She became the face of Lux Channel-i Superstar in 2007. Her alluring beauty caught the eyes of hundreds of audience home and abroad. The brand ambassador of Lux Bangladesh and model-turned-actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim rose to fame through her diverse work in the industry. Besides acting in a significant number of Dhallywood films, the actress has worked in Kolkata's Tollywood film industry since she embarked on her career in film industry.

Mim’s latest venture ‘Shap Ludu’ playing opposite Arifin Shuvoo is slated for release this month. In a recent interview with Prothom Alo, she talked about her career and more.
Excerpts of the interview:

Prothom Alo: Where are you now? What are you up to?
Bidya Sinha Saha Mim: I am now on the sets of the film ‘ Paran’. I have to rush away any time.

Prothom Alo: You are uploading pictures on social media from the site and in your film costume. Aren't there any restrictions from the director?
Mim: Not really. The film is scheduled for release very soon. I don't find anything wrong in publishing some photos for the audience.

Besides, people are gathering at the site to watch the shooting. They are taking photos and selfies with the celebs. They are uploading those pictures, too.

Prothom Alo: There were times when actresses could not upload pictures as there was no social media. But now the distance between the actress and audience is shorter as there various media to connect a star with the audience. What say?

Mim: People used to collect view-cards of actors and actresses then. Time has changed. Everyone has a mobile phone now. They download pictures of stars on their phones. No matter what, stars remain stars to the viewers.

Prothom Alo: How was experience of working in Lux TVC?

Mim: Lux is one of the most dynamic and iconic brands in Bangladesh. Renowned actresses Shomi Kaiser, Bipasha Hayat, Aupee Karim, Sadia Islam Mou, Afsana Mimi have all worked in Lux advertisements earlier.

All models have a desire to work in a Lux TVC. I was nervous but tried to bring out my best.

Prothom Alo: The most sought-after Bollywood film star Deepika Padukone has done the Lux ad in India. How do you relate?

Mim: This is a big achievement for me. We aimed to do better when we were planning to make the ad in Bangladesh. The applauses we received after airing the ad shows we made it!

Prothom Alo: What do you do in your free time?

Mim: I go to the gym. Sometimes I read books or watch movies.

Prothom Alo: What’s your favourite? Working in film or advertisements?

Mim: Films, indeed. I like ads as well. It requires less time.

Prothom Alo: Name the actor you are most comfortable to work with?

Mim: I am comfortable with all the actors in fact.
