Andrew Kishore sells flat to cover medical cost

Renowned playback singer Andrew Kishore, diagnosed with cancer, has sold his flat to cover cost of his medical treatment.

The popular artiste has been undergoing treatment at Singapore General Hospital.

The family members of the singer said after being diagnosed with cancer, Andrew sold his flat in Bhadra area of Rajshahi for Tk 3 million.

He has nothing left except the flat in Mirpur’s Section-10, the family members added.

His family also said they have already spent more than 10 million for his treatment.

Andrew Kishore began the first phase of his chemotherapy in Singapore General Hospital from 22 September.

On 24 November, the singer told Prothom Alo that he has to stay in Singapore till February next year.

The second cycle of the chemotherapy started on 26 November, he added.

He also said the physicians at the hospital told him that he has to undergo 12 more chemotherapies in three cycles. It will cost Tk 20.1 million.

His wife Lipika Andrew has appealed for fund through a webpage named “Go Fund Me”.

On the page, Andre Koshore said, “I didn’t want it. I had to do this. I can’t bear anymore…”

A certain Momen Biswas is handling the funding page. He urged the government and artiste communities to come forward and fund him.
