TV anchor Ferdous Bappy in ICU with COVID-19

Renowned Bangladeshi media personality and television anchor Ferdous Bappy has been infected with COVID-19 and taken to ICU of a city hospital on Sunday.

“Our friend, a soulful personality, music and art enthusiast, anchor and professional marketeer Ferdous Bappy has been affected with COVID-19 and now in ventilation at Asgar Ali Hospital,” journalist Supan Roy, former Head of Programme of Jamuna Television wrote on his Facebook.

Explaining his worsened condition, Supon added “Both of his lungs got infected. He needs plasma, his blood group is B+. Seeking help for our friend as soon as possible.”

Considered as one of the most versatile television hosts in Bangladesh, Ferdous Bappy earned his fame for being the host for popular quizzing show ‘Quiz Quiz’ on BTV.

Apart from being one of the country’s pioneering quizmasters for over a decade, Bappy has also hosted numerous musical shows on a number of television channels out of his love for music and also hosted a number of television programmes.
