Light to moderate rain likely

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur in the country in 24 hours as of 9:00am Monday, said a met office bulletin.

The bulletin also said moderately heavy to heavy rain and hailstones may fall at isolated places of the country, reports UNB.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind and lightning flashes is likely to occur at a few places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and the regions of Kushtia and Jashore with moderately heavy to heavy falls and hails at isolated places over northern part of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9:00am today,” said a met bulletin.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Seasonal low lies over South Bay while trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area, the bulletin added.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6:00am today was recorded 73 mm at Kumarkhali in Khulna division.
