Water levels in 38 rivers rise

Water levels at 38 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 52 stations recorded fall.

Among the 94 monitored stations, three river stations have been registered steady, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said on Monday.

All the major rivers are flowing below their respective danger levels while the Brahmaputra-Jamuna rivers are in falling trend which may continue in the next 24 hours.

The Ganges river is in rising trend while the Padma river is steady trend which may continue in next 48 hours while the major rivers of the upper Meghna basin are in falling trend which may continue in next 24 hours.

A total of 170 millimetres (mm) rainfall was recorded at Sunamganj and 70 mm at Dalia.
