Weather to remain inclement Thursday, likely to improve Friday
Rainfall disrupted the normal life of the city dwellers on Wednesday as the Meteorological Department of Bangladesh (BMD) recorded 33 millimetres of rainfall in the capital by the afternoon, reports BSS.
The rain, however, would continue until Thursday across the country while the weather would improve by Friday morning, said a BMD official.
The daylong rainfall triggered by the influence of frequent thunderstorm affected activities of the month long Amar Ekushey Book Fair on the Bangla Academy premises and its adjoining Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital city.
Due to the torrential downpour, commuters, mainly the office and school goers were the worst sufferers.
The met office recorded highest rainfall 53 millimetres in Faridpur while 41 millimetres in Chuadanga and 36 millimetres in Ishwardi till the afternoon.
Besides, the met office issued a warning asking the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three.
