Anticipation and excitement builds up before Eid. It is an occasion that always brings a sense of joy and community to people home or abroad.

The Bangladeshi expatriate community in South Korea enjoyed taking a Eid reunion at the Ghandong Gu Global Centre auditorium in Seoul recently.

According to a message receive in Dhaka, Gopalganj Association of South Korea (GASK) arranged the programme, which was presided over by GASK president Sheikh Murad Hossain (Sohel).

Bangladesh ambassador in South Korea Abida Islam joined the reunion as chief guest. Other guests included expatriate diplomats, businessmen, political leaders, teachers, students, researchers and some other Bangladeshis working there.

The guests exchanged greetings with each other, said a news release.

Starting with recitation of the Holy Qur’an the event was followed by music, poetry recitation and stage performance.

Ambassador Abida Islam lauded GASK for organising such a warm reunion and promised to provide the organisation with all possible support.

The organisation’s general secretary David Ekram, Bangladesh embassy’s commercial councilor Mohammad Masud Rana Chowdhury and businessman Abdul Matin also spoke there.The event was moderated and presented by organising secretary of GASK Mahmud Mia.
