Bangladeshi left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman says he has been working hard to get his old form back to stand out in the crowd.

The bowler who is popularly called 'The Fizz' failed to maintain his early performance and his specialties no longer seem to work.

But, the southpaw said he was aware of his performance and trying hard to improve his bowling to get his old form back. The 24-year-old is now working on his fitness as there is no cricketing event due to outbreak of the Covid-19 (novel coronavirus).

I’m trying to work on my fitness. It requires a few people around you to bowl or bat. So, I’m keeping myself busy working on fitness now. It will help me do well once cricket resumes

“I’m trying to work on my fitness. It requires a few people around you to bowl or bat. So, I’m keeping myself busy working on fitness now. It will help me do well once cricket resumes,” Mustafizur told the media on Wednesday.

On his debut in ODIs back in 2015 against India, Mustafizur bagged five wickets and helped the Tigers win that game.

In the very next match, he scalped six more wickets and became one of the few bowlers who have recorded more than one five-wicket hauls in their first two ODIs. He picked up as many as 26 wickets in his first nine ODIs with three five-wicket hauls.

After having a dream debut, Mustafizur played in the Indian Premier League 2016 and named as the emerging player IPL in the season. But, a shoulder injury forced him out of action.

“After a surgery in the shoulder, my action has changed slightly but not a big change. I’m working on it. I think it’ll be changed in the coming days,” a confident Mustafiuzr told the media at the BCB Academy ground.

In the recent central contract of BCB, Mustafizur Rahman excluded from the red-ball contract. He is only given a contract for white-ball cricket. But the bowlers said he is upbeat to play all the forms of the game.

“I want to play all forms of cricket. But I understand I’ve something to work on. I fell that I’m doing well day by day. I’ve played two ODIs and T20Is against Zimbabwe, in which I did better than the previous series. I hope it’ll be better in the coming series,” Mustafizur told the media.

“I watch video footages of my old bowling when I get enough time. I take advice from coaches and other bowlers. Days ago, I talked to a bowler who plays for the U-19 team. He told me to deliver the slower delivers from an upper position. It was great to have an idea from him,” he further added.
