Taijul picks seven as Bangladesh take 44-run lead

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam has picked up seven wickets in the first innings of the first Test against Pakistan at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Sunday.

Pakistan lost all wickets scoring 286 runs. Bangladesh are leading by 44 runs as the hosts scored 330 runs in their first innings.

Top-scoring Abid Ali made 133 for Pakistan but the tourists were all out before tea after resuming the play on the third day with 145-0. Abdullah Shafique and Faheem Ashraf contributed 52 and 38 runs respectively.

Taijul Islam destroyed Pakistan batting line-up with his second career-best performance claiming 7-116 while Ebadot Hossain and Mehidy Hasan Miraz shared three two wickets.

Taijul Islam took 8-39 against Zimbabwe in Dhaka in October 2014.
