Mushfiqur stands against racism

Bangladesh cricketer Mushfiqur Rahim, one of the country’s most popular sportsmen, has chosen to speak out and take a stand against racism.

Mushfiqur is thus the first Bangladeshi cricketer to take a prominent stand on the issue, joining the likes of West Indian cricketers Darren Sammy, Chris Gayle, and Dwayne Bravo, and England’s James Anderson.

They have been quite vocal about racism in cricket in the aftermath of the worldwide protests following the killing of 46-year-old African-American George Floyd by police in the US state of Minnesota.

A good number of sportsmen all over the world including America and Europe have raised their voice against racism.

In his official Facebook page on Sunday, Mushfiqur Rahim made his own position known by posting a photo of himself carrying a placard with the message: "I hate racism. Say ‘NO’ to racism."
