Bangladesh to face Thailand in Asiad football Thursday

Bangladesh will play stronger Thailand in their 2nd Group B match of the 18th Asian Games Men's Football on Thursday at the Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong in Indonesia.

The match will kick-off at 3 pm (Bangladesh time).

The FIFA World ranking of Thailand is 122 against Bangladesh's 194.

Qatar will play Uzbekistan in the other B fixture on Thursday at 6 pm (Bangladesh time).

Earlier on Tuesday, Bangladesh got off to a frustrating start in the 45-nation Games Football after conceding a 0-3 goals defeat against upper ranked Uzbekistan (FIFA World ranking 95) in the opening Group B match at the Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong.

In the other Group B match on Tuesday, Thailand played to a 1-1 draw with Qatar.

This was the 3rd consecutive defeat for Bangladesh against Uzbekistan in the Asian Games football after suffering 0-3 goals defeats both in Guangzhou in 2010 and in Incheon Games in 2014.

In the remaining Group B match, Bangladesh will play another giant Qatar (FIFA world ranking 98) on August 19 at the Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium in Bekasi.

Ahead of the Thursday's match against Thailand, Bangladesh national team made swimming session at the team hotel Wednesday morning.
