Mohammad Fazaluzzaman scored the match's only goal as Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in a friendly in a jam-packed Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Wednesday.

Fazaluzzaman scored the winner in the 11th minute as his right-footed shot from outside the box entered the net edging the crossbar, reports UNB.

Bangladesh tried their best to stage a comeback but could not find the net.

The friendly battle, which started at 4:00pm, pulled huge local crowd at the venue hosting the first international event with a capacity of 20,000 people.

Both sides played the match as part of their preparation for the seven-nation SAFF Suzuki Cup Football 2018, set to begin at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on 4 September.
