Ashraful called in to BCB High Performance squad

Mohammad Ashraful has got call for Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) High Performance (HP) Squad to play in the one-off four-day match at Sheikh Abu Nasser Stadium, Khulna from 19-22 September.

A total of 26 players, equally split in two teams, will play in the List ‘A’ match where former Bangladesh national side captain Ashraful will play for HP Red Team against HP Green Team.

Mohammad Ashraful’s five-year ban on playing international cricket officially ended on 13 August 2018 and got clearance to play in Bangladesh’s domestic competitions on the same day in 2016.

Ashraful was banned for his involvement in notorious match-fixing and spot-fixing during the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2013.

After completing his ban on international cricket, this is the first call for Ashraful under BCB’s supervision.

Ashraful left for Khulna on Monday afternoon, after reporting at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

HP Squads:

HP Red Team: Saif Hassan, Soumya Sarker, Mohammad Ashraful, Afif Hossain, Al-Amin, Mehedi Hasan, Tanvir Islam, Marshal Ayub, Syed Khaled Ahmed, Abu Jayed, Tanbir Haider, Taskin Ahmed and Sanjamul Islam.

HP Green Team: Imrul Kayes, Mizanur Rahman, Zakir Hasan, Fazle Mahamud, Quazi Nurul Hasan, Shadman Islam, Taijul Islam, Al-Amin Hossain, Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Kamrul Islam R, Ebadot Hossain Chowdhury, Jubair Hossain Likhon and Iftekhar Sajjad.
