Bangladesh U19 ahead of Sri Lanka after day 2 of Youth Test

Hosts Sri Lanka U-19 were trailing by 244 runs against Bangladesh U-19 team on the 2nd day of the four-day first Youth Test at the Nondescripts Cricket Club Ground in Colombo on Wednesday.

Bangladesh resumed the first innings with overnight 209 for 3 in 58 overs Wednesday morning and were all out for 309 runs in 96.1 overs featuring Amite Hasan's 64 runs, reports UNB.

Two overnight batsmen Towhid Hridoy (54) Shamim Hasan (43), failed to add any more run playing nine and two balls respectively.

Number seven batsman Amite Hasan contributed the match highest 64 runs off 99 balls hitting six boundaries, apart from opener Prantik Nawroz Nabil's 35 runs and Tanzid Hasan's 42 runs.

C Wijesinghe grabbed four wickets for 68 runs, A Daniel, ST Mendis and R Sanjaya took two wickets each conceding 64, 69 and 70 runs respectively.

In reply, hosts Sri Lanka youths scored 65 for 1 in 26 overs when bails were drawn for the 2nd day (Wednesday).

Opener ND Paranavithana and K Mishra were in batting with 35 and 19 runs respectively after the dismissal of another opener ND Perera making only five runs.

Bangladesh captain Towhid Hridoy took the lone wicket of ND Perera conceding seven runs.
