An all-round performance from Robbie Frylinck went in vain as Sylhet Sixers beat Chittagong Vikings by five runs in their Bangladesh Premier League match on Wednesday.

After bagging three wickets, the all-rounder hammered four sixes to add 44 off 24 balls, but Chittagong still fell short in their chase of 169.

Sylhet pacer Taskin Ahmed bagged four wickets to contain the Chittagong batsmen while Alok Kapali bagged two to play his part.

Opener Cameron Delport and one-down Mohammad Ashraful (22) had made 57 in the second wicket and as long as the former was there, it did not look like a difficult job.

Delport slammed four fours and three sixes in his 22-ball 38-run innings. Sikandar Raza added 37.

Batting first, Sylhet Sixers were three wickets down on six runs, but fifties from captain David Warner and Nicholas Pooran and Afif Hossain's quickfire 45 helped them make a good total of 168 for 5.

Top-scorer Warner's 59 came in 47 balls while number seven batsman Pooran hammered three fours and three sixes to hit 52 off 32 balls.

Warner and Afif made 71 in the fourth wicket before the latter's departure. Afif's 28-ball tornedo featured five fours and three sixes.

Pooran was adjudged the Man of the Match.
