Comilla Victorians could make only 72 runs losing all 10 wickets in their 20 overs against the devastating Rangpur Riders bowlers in the 41st match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Winning the toss, Victorians skipper Imrul Kayes elected to bat first but his batsmen failed to live up to the expectation. They could last only 16.3 overs.

All-rounder Ziaur Rahman was the team’s top scorer with 21 off 25 while LA Dawson and Shamsur Rahman scored 18 and 12 runs respectively.

Victoans’ red-hot Ravi Bopara picked up three wickets giving away only seven runs in three overs while Nahidul Islam and Mashrafe Mortaza took two wickets each. Shahidul Islam and Minhajiul Abedin Afridi took apiece in their miserly bowling.

The outcome of the match will have no major effect on the points table since both the teams have already progressed into the next round of the tournament.
