Shakib Al Hasan continued his rich vein of form to hit another half century, but Bangladesh still have a long way to go to reach the 316-run target set by Pakistan in their Friday's World Cup game at Lord's.

At the end of the 27th over, the Tigers have 125 for 3, still needing 191 runs from the remaining 23 overs.

Shakib is not out on 51 while Liton Das is on 26. Soumya Sarkar (22), Tamim Iqbal (8) and Mushfiqur Rahim (16) are the batsmen who have departed.

It is Shakib's sixth fifty of the tournament while he has also hit two centuries. Barring the game against Australia when he made 41, he has scored at least 50 in all the matches he has played in this World Cup.

Earlier, Mustafizur Rahman bagged five wickets for the second game in a row but an Imam-ul-Haq century and 96 from Babar Azam helped Pakistan make 315 for 9.

The Bangladesh speedster now have 20 wickets to his name in this tournament, the highest by a Bangladeshi in a single World Cup.

After the fall of Fakhar Zaman on 23, the duo added 157 in the second wicket to keep the team going and Babar will only rue missing out on yet another century.

The batsman was trapped leg before after hitting two consecutive fours in a Saifuddin over.

Although he missed his second ton of this World Cup, that innings was enough to make him the batsman with the highest runs in a single World Cup for Pakistan. He has now made 474 runs in this edition. The previous record was held by Javed Miandad, who hit 437 runs in their 1992 World Cup winning campaign.

Imam did not miss reaching three figures though, but he was hit wicket soon after reaching his hundred off a Mustafizur Rahman delivery.

Saifuddin and Mustafiz now moped the midle order and the tail, with some help from Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

Imad Wasim added 43 priceless runs for Pakistan, but five batsmen failing to reach double digit meant they could not make a bigger score.
