Shane Watson to play for Khulna Titans

Bangladesh Premier League T20 franchise Khulna Titans have roped in former Australia captain and all-rounder Shane Watson as one of its two direct overseas signings for the upcoming BPL 2019-20, reports UNB.

In a recent press release, Titans claimed Watson will be available for the season of BPL T20 2019-20.

Kazi Inam Ahmed, the managing director of Titans, said Titans family is excited to have Watson in the armoury.

“He is a true champion, having won many titles for his country and the franchise teams he has represented around the world. His experience and his winning mentality will contribute significantly to the team. Hopefully, Shane will propel us to the title that we have been working so hard for,” Ahmed quoted as saying in the press release.

Meanwhile, Watson sharing his excitement of having joined the Titans, through a video message, said: “I am very excited to join the Khulna Titans for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League season.”

“The BPL is a tournament that I have always wanted to play in and now I finally get chance. There are so many great cricketers playing in the BPL from the local Bangladesh stars to the overseas superstars, so it is going to be very special to finally be a part of it,” he further said.

Watson played 59 Tests, 190 ODIs and 58 T20s for Australia and amassed 3731, 5757 and 1462 runs and took 75, 168 and 48 wickets respectively with a total of 14 international centuries and five five-fors.
He also played 316 T20 all over the world and scored 8182 runs with taking 216 wickets.
