Mashrafe out, Tamim to captain in Sri Lanka

Opener Tamim Iqbal will lead Bangladesh in the ODI series against Sri Lanka as regular skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.
Confirming the development, BCB media committee’s chief Jalal Yunus told Prothom Alo, “Tamim will head the boys as Mashrafe is ruled out at the last moment.”
Mashrafe got injured while taking part in a practice session on Friday afternoon.
Bangladesh Cricket Board’s physician Debashish Chowdhury said to Prothom Alo, “He has been ruled out ( of the series). It’ll take at least three weeks for him to recover.”
The Bangladesh team will leave for Sri Lanka on Saturday evening in their first assignment after a World Cup campaign.
The Tigers will play against Sri Lanka on 26, 28 and 31 July at R Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.
