Bangladesh women's cricket team to leave for Netherlands Thursday

The Bangladesh national women's cricket team are all set to fly for the Netherlands on Thursday to attend a practice camp before their assault on the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019 in Scotland.

Bangladesh team will fly from Shahjalal International Airport at 10:10am.

After a 10-day practice camp in the Netherlands, the Bangladesh team will move to Scotland and take on Papua New Guinea on the opening day of the tournament on August 31.

The league-cum-knockout tournament will decide the two qualifiers for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2020 to be held in Australia.

A total of eight teams will fight in the Qualifier along with Bangladesh and the hosts Scotland. The winners of the two semi-finals will book a place in the main event in Australia next year.

Bangladesh will play in Group A along with Papua New Guinea, Scotland and USA while Group B consists of Ireland, Thailand, Namibia, and the Netherlands.

Bangladesh squad: Salma Khatun (captain), Murshida Khatun Happy, Jahanara Alam, Nahida Akter, Fargana Haque, Sanjida Islam, Sobhana Mostary, Ritu Moni, Khadija Tul Kubra, Ayasha Rahman, Shaila Sharmin, Nigar Sultana Joty and Shamima Sultana.
