Bangladesh cricket team’s seasoned campaigner Mahmudullah Riyad has refuted the news of a rift with fellow team-mate Shakib Al Hasan.

Some media reports stated that the relationship between the two senior players had deteriorated following Bangladesh’s match against Australia in the Cricket World Cup.

But speaking at a media briefing at Mirpur on Sunday, the middle order batsman scotched the rumours.

“I think I better not talk about such an issue. I only want to tell you that this was misrepresented by some media. The matter could’ve been presented a bit differently,” Mahmudullah told newmen.

“You are welcome to our dressing room to see how good the relationship among the players is…I’ll always maintain that everything is going just fine,” he added.

He then took to social media to further clarify his stance and posted a video from his verified Facebook page.

“We have always been in very good terms. It’s totally a lie that anything happened between Shakib and me. I think it should be clarified and that’s why I’m posting this video,” Mahmudullah said.

Mahmudullah, one of the most experienced players in the team, had a poor series during the Tigers' recent Sri Lanka tour. He was not at his best in the World Cup either.
