Karate gives three more golds

Karate players Mohammad Al Amin, Marzan Akter and Humaira Akther won three gold medals for Bangladesh at the 13th South Asian Games in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Al Amin, a member of Bangladesh Army, won the medal in 60-kg category of men's karate kumi beating his Pakistani rival.

Marjan Akter brought the third gold for the country in the event beating Pakistan's Kausar Sana in women's 55-kg category karate kumi while the third gold was won by Humaira Akther in women's 61-kg category karate.

Humaira also had brought home the first medal, winning a bronze in women's individual karate, on Monday.

Ferdous, another member of Bangladesh Army, grabbed a silver medal in 67-kg category of karate today.

On Monday, taekwondo player Dipu Chakma clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh.
