IU Al-Quran dept gets new chairman

Professor M Yaqub Ali has been made the new chairman of Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia, reports UNB.

IU acting registrar SM Abdul Latif confirmed the matter and said that the IU vice-chancellor professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari appointed him to the post for the next three years.

The new appointment was made as the tenure of the previous chairman professor Lokman Hossain expired recently, he added.
