NU postpones Saturday exams for Cyclone Fani

The authorities of National University (NU) have postponed all of its examinations scheduled to be held on Saturday due to the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani.

Acting director of the university’s public relations division Faizul Karim told Prothom Alo this on Friday.

“The date of the postponed examinations will be announced later,” he said.

Earlier, the 4 May HSC examinations have been deferred to 14 May due to the cyclonic storm, said Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka chairman Ziaul Haque.

The met office said the cyclone, which made landfall in Odisha state of India on Friday morning with a wind speed of around 180-200 kilometres per hour, is likely to hit Bangladesh by the evening at the wind speed of 80-100 kilometres per hour.

The impact of the storm will continue for today and tomorrow (Saturday), the met office added.
