Education minister Dipu Moni on Sunday said 'No decision has been taken so far to close educational institutions once again'.

'We will have to tackle coronavirus maintaining health protocols properly. However, if necessary, the decision of shutting down the educational institutions will be adopted.'

The minister came up with this remark while briefing journalists on Sunday at 11:30am at Public Administration Training Centre in Savar.

Dipu Moni said students from all educational institutions, government and non-government, will receive Covid-19 vaccine showing their identification cards. No one can be excluded.

However, the government has no plan so far to administer vaccines to students aged below 12. 'The decision depends on the directives of the World Health Organisation (WHO),' she said.

When asked about the closure of educational institutions, the minister said, 'We discussed the matter with the advisory committee and the primary and mass education ministry. They assured us they are monitoring the classes being conducted maintaining the health guidelines strictly. That is the reason why the educational institutions remain open.'
