SUST students continue demo demanding VC's resignation
Agitated students of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) have locked all administrative buildings, including the vice chancellor office, on Monday at around 4:00pm to press home their demands.
As of filing this report at 8:41pm, students were demonstrating encircling the VC Farid Uddin’s residence from where they are demanding his resignation.
At around 4:30pm, students offered flowers to the members of police and requested them to leave the campus. But the law enforcement agency didn't pay any heed to their appeal.
Earlier on Monday, students declared the VC Farid Uddin Ahmed persona non grata protesting the police attack on students on Sunday that left at least 50 students injured.
Students alleged VC Farid Uddin has no concern over the students. That is the reason why he called the police to the campus and the law enforcers carried out the attack on the students. They want a student-friendly new vice chancellor.
