State minister for public administration Farhad Hossain said a total of 392,117 posts have remained vacant in different ministries, directorates and divisions.

He came up with this disclosure in parliament on Thursday in replying to a question of ruling party’s lawmaker Benjir Ahmed with speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury in the chair.

In reply to another query by Awami-League lawmaker Ali Azam, the state minister said 41,566 cadres were recommended for recruitment through Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) since 2010. At the same time, 5,143 were recommended for class one non-cadre posts and 7,161 candidates for class two.

Other than this, the Public Service Commission recommended 4,658 for nine and above grades and 42,040 for class two non-cadre.
