IU for making Bangla UN official language

The teachers and students of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Wednesday demanded making Bangla as the seventh official language of the United Nations (UN).

In pursuance of the demand, they held various programmes including procession, discussion and online voting on the campus.

The teachers and students brought out a procession from in front of the administrative building which ended in a discussion at the university's Shaheed Minar after parading main roads of the campus.

University treasurer M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, proctor M Mahbubar Rhaman, and IIER director Maher Ali, among other, addressed the discussion.
