A 100-member Bangladesh youth delegation will embark on an eight-day visit to different Indian cities like New Delhi, Agra and Mumbai on Saturday, reports UNB.

They will see prominent cultural and historical sites, business centres, apart from holding interactions with the youth of India in educational, business, IT and technological institutions.

State minister for information Tarana Halim and Indian high commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla addressed the members of the delegation on Thursday at the flagging off ceremony in the city.

Well-known model and actress Nusrat Faria, popular actor Arefin Shuvo, Aman Reza and acclaimed contemporary musician Habib Wahid, were the special invitees for the flagging off event.

This year marks the sixth year of the Bangladesh youth delegation's visit to India.

The first such Bangladesh youth delegation visited India in 2012, and this programme has been continuing since then every year.

Members of the 2018 delegation include 52 young Bangladeshi women and 48 young Bangladeshi men, drawn from different regions of the country, diverse backgrounds and educational institutions of Bangladesh.

They comprise doctors, artists, sportspersons, journalists, engineers, models, radio jockeys, humanities and science students and social workers, among others.
