DUJA demands inclusion of univ reporters in 9th wage board

The platform of Dhaka University journalists-Dhaka University Journalists' Association (DUJA) on Saturday demanded that 'University Correspondents', who works as campus reporters at various universities, should be included in the '9th Wage Board, reports UNB.

DUJA made the demand in a statement issued on Saturday.

Signed by its president Asif Tasin and general secretary Mahmudul Hasan Nayon, the statement said that though university correspondents contributed a lot, they are not recognised.
"University correspondents contribute a lot in various democratic movements through their brave writing and still contributing. But they didn't get proper recognition from media houses,” reads the statement.

The statement also added that university correspondents were not properly assessed in the 8th wage board.
