Career Fest begins at DU

A two-day long Career Fest began Monday at the TSC premises of Dhaka University (DU), according to UNB.

It is being organised by the Dhaka University Career Club, said a press release.

While inaugurating the programme, DU vice-chancellor Md Akhtaruzzaman called upon the students to prepare themselves as skilled human resources for making Bangladesh a developed country.

Stressing the need for introducing internship programmes at different industries to develop professional skills of the graduates, he said, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) has already been set up at DU to produce skilled human resources.

He emphasised on creating relationship among academia and industries for expansion of job market in the country.

Among others, dean of the Faculty of Business Studies of DU professor Shibli Rubayat-Ul-Islam, professor of the Department of Marketing ABM Shahidul Islam, assistant professorof the Department of Organization Strategy and Leadership Md Rashedur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) Syed Almas Kabir, coordinator of Youth Programme of Prothom Alo Munir Hasan and president of DU Career Club Muhayminul Islam also addressed the inaugural programme.

32 private companies and 16 public and private universities are participating in the two-day long Career Fest.
