JU continues protest demanding release of quota reformists

The students of Philosophy department of Jahangirnagar University on Tuesday staged a sit-in programme in front of their department demanding release of all quota reform leaders and logical reform of quota system, reports UNB.

Around 20 students held the sit-in programme around 10:00 am which ended at 11:30am.

Addressing the programme, Reajul Islam Raihan, a third year student said, "Quota reform movement is now a national issue. Our students have been fighting for long but the government has no positive response yet."

"In this circumstance, we cannot remain silent. That is why we are here, to boycott our classes and exams," Raihan said.

Meanwhile, a total of seven departments- History, Philosophy, Government and Politics, Accounting and Information, Zoology, Physics and Finance Banking department boycotted their classes and exams for an indefinite period placing the same demand.
