UGC seeks locals’ support for RMSTU’s permanent campus

University Grants Commission (UGC)chairman Abdul Mannan sought local people’s cooperation in establishing a permanent campus for Rangamati Science and Technology University (RMSTU), reports UNB.

He came up with the urge while inaugurating a workshop after signing an agreement between UGC and RMSTU at a programme arranged at Rangamati Parjatan Holiday Complex.

Mentioning that 64 acres of land have been acquired for the project, he said the permanent campus will be built under a master plan of Tk 2.27 billion this year.

A digital survey has already been completed, said the UGC chairman.

He said that the university has been established to give higher education facilities to the hill tracts residents.

RMSTU vice chancellor Pradanendu Bikas Chakma chaired the programme.
