RU’s 10th convocation 29 Sept

The tenth convocation of Rajshahi University (RU) will be held at its stadium at 2.30pm on 29 September.

Chancellor of RU and president of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh M Abdul Hamid is likely to chair the convocation, RU sources here said.

A total of 6,009 graduates registered their names to take part in the convocation.

The graduation ceremony was scheduled for 24 March. More than one year after the online registration for participants was completed in

2016, said professor Lutfor Rahman, proctor of RU.

But it was postponed on 13 March due to the illness of education minister Nurul Islam Nahid who was supposed to chair the programme at that time.

Prof Rahman added that the registration process was first opened on 3 November 2016 for those who earned their masters, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees between 2011 and 2014 from RU. Later, the deadline was extended from 30 November to 15 December 2016.

“We are working relentlessly to turn the campus to a new look on the occasion,” said Prof Ananda Kumar Shaha, pro-vice-chancellor of RU.
