IUTA election Wednesday

The election to the executive council of Islamic University Teachers' Association (IUTA) will be held on its campus in Kushtia on Wednesday.

The voting will begin at 9:00am at room No. 427 of Art's Faculty building, IUTA officials said on Sunday.

A total of 30 candidates will contest in the election for 15 posts, said IUTA chief election commissioner professor Muhammad Sulaiman.

Professor M Kamal Uddin of Statistics department and professor M Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan will contest for president and secretary posts respectively from Awami League-backed Shapla Forum panel.

Professor Tozzammel Hossain of Arabic Langue and Literature department and professor M Wali Ullah of Dawah' and Islamic Studies department will contest from the BNP-backed panel.
