DU observes Martyred Intellectuals Day Friday

The authorities of Dhaka University (DU) will observe the Martyred Intellectuals Day on Friday in a befitting manner. 

A series of programmes have been taken to observe the day, said a press release on Thursday.
The programmes include hoisting of black flags, placing wreaths to the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard, offering special prayers and holding discussions on the supreme sacrifice of the most enlightened sons of the soil.
The black flags will be hoisted at all the major buildings of the university around 6:30am.
University teachers, students, officers and employees will be gathered on the premises of Aparajeya Bangla and they will pay tribute to the Martyred Intellectuals Graveyard near university’s central mosque, memorials near Jagannath Hall and others memorials in the different residential areas on the campus.
Later, they will go to Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals Memorial Museum to place wreaths. A Discussion meeting will also be held at Teacher- Student Centre (TSC) auditorium at 11:00am.
Special prayers will be offered at the Central Mosque of the university along with the other mosques and places of worship of different faiths for praying peace upon the souls of martyred intellectuals.
