IELTS payments now possible online!

Bangladeshi students willing to appear in examination of International English Language Testing System (IELTS) will be able to pay the fees online, according to the British Council, Dhaka office.

IELTS is a the world's most popular English language proficiency test for higher education in the UK and some other countries and global migration.

The online payment will be possible under an agreement the council signed with SSL Wireless for using their SSLCOMMERZ payment gateway.

By having this agreement, the British Council (Bangladesh) is set to enable students and citizens to pay online for availing the council’s services.

The British Council, which specialises in international culture and educational opportunities, is working in Bangladesh to develop English language skills of students, educators and general citizens through various training programmes, advisory services and certifications such as IELTS.

“This is another step forward for the education sector which will further promote digital payments and encourage other institutes to accept online payments in Bangladesh,” the council announced in a news release on Thursday.

The signing ceremony was held at the corporate office of SSL Wireless in New Eskaton Road on last Sunday.
