BSMMU to open course on Autism, NDDs

The Institute of Paediatric Neuro-disorder and Autism (IPNA) today got the approval to run a course on Autism and other Neuro Developmental Disabilities (NDDs) by the Academic Council of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

The aim of the course is to deepen the expertise in the field of autism

spectrum disorder (ASD) and related Neuro developmental disorders and create a pool of qualified individuals to meet the needs of autism and NDD service providers, said a press release on Monday.

The certificate course is designed in response to the growing public concern about services for children with ASD and NDDs in Bangladesh.

The programme enables physicians, psychologists, special educators, teachers, therapists and parents to acquire expertise they need to work in the field of Autism and NDDs.
